Charles Silberstein, MD, an orthopedic surgeon who served as the head physician for the Baltimore Orioles MLB team from 1978 to 2009, has died at age 90, according to a June 29 report from The Baltimore Sun.

Evanston, Ill.-based NorthShore University HealthSystem and MLS team Chicago Fire FC partnered up, making NorthShore the team's official health system, sports medicine and orthopedics provider. 

Theodore Blaine, MD, a shoulder and elbow surgeon at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery, has performed the world's first implantation of a stemmed elliptical head prosthesis for anatomic shoulder replacement surgery.
