Here are five updates from orthopedic management services organizations in the third quarter of 2023.

Episcopal Health Services in New York City is starting an orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation program, The Wave reported Sept. 29.

Lazurite, the company behind the ArthroFree wireless camera, added Benchmark Medical as a distributor for the system, according to a Sept. 28 news release.

Sanford Bemidji (Minn.) Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center has added Corey Wells, MD, to its team of orthopedic surgeons, according to a Sept. 27 report by Park Rapids Enterprise.

Niagara Falls (N.Y.) Memorial Medical Center has added Erik Freeland, DO, to its orthopedics team. 

OrthoConnecticut has received approval to undergo restructuring without seeking a certificate of need from the state's Office of Health Strategy, according to a Sept. 27 report from the Hartford Business Journal.

The majority — 79 percent — of orthopedic surgeons under the age of 40 would choose to practice medicine again if given the choice, according to the Medscape 2023 "Young Physician Compensation Report" published Sept. 26. 

Gautier, Miss.-based Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists has been hit with a federal lawsuit following a patient data breach that compromised the personal information of 242,986 people, according to a Sept. 26 report from Law360.
