The market for total knee arthroplasty continues its steady growth due to the increasing number of people seeking relief from chronic knee pain.

Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston received $1.8 million from Stryker in 2023, according to the CMS Open Payments Data.

Amin Farokhrani, MD, has been named the head team physician for Cambridge, Mass.-based Harvard University's athletic department.

Stryker completed its acquisition of Artelon, a company that develops soft tissue fixation products for sports medicine and foot and ankle procedures, according to a July 15 news release. 

U.S. News & World Report released its "Best Hospitals for Orthopedics" 2024-25 list on July 16, with New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery ranking No. 1 for the 15th consecutive year.

The American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons has named the top 50 adult reconstruction fellowship programs in the U.S. for 2024. 

Moscow, Idaho-based Gritman Orthopedic Surgeons has added Christina Cervieri, MD, to its care team.

Orthopedic groups were among specialties with the most merger and acquisition deals in 2023, according to a VMG Health report, and that activity has continued into 2024.
