As the 2024-25 college football season gets set to kick off, here are the physicians who are set to provide orthopedic care for all 18 Big Ten Conference teams this year: 

As prior authorizations continue to burden physicians and patients alike, UnitedHealthcare is billing its gold-card program as a way to alleviate care delays and save physicians time. 

Lawrence, Kan.-based LMH Health has added or contracted with 36 new physicians and advanced practice providers so far in 2024, including a handful of musculoskeletal specialists. 

Shane McGowan, MD, a spine surgeon at Richmond-based OrthoVirginia, has become the first in the state to complete 100 spine surgeries using augmented reality navigation, according to an Aug. 27 LinkedIn post.

Orthopedic surgeon Edward Hur, MD, will join Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush beginning Sept. 3. 

Orthopedic sports medicine surgeon Austin Cole, MD, has joined Conway (Ark.) Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center, according to an Aug. 27 report by Arkansas Money & Politics.

Carolina Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center in Gastonia, N.C., added Christopher Vasileff, MD.

Oswego (N.Y.) Health Medical Practice added Robert Ogg, MD, to the Center for Orthopedic Care.

Hickory, N.C.-based EmergeOrtho-Foothills Region, has added orthopedic sports medicine surgeon Anthony Marois, MD, to its team, according to an Aug. 24 report from the Hickory Daily Record.
