Orthopedics has a 20% gender wage gap: Report

The orthopedic specialty has one of the largest gender pay gaps, according to the “2023 Physician Compensation Report” from Physicians Thrive

The report, which compiles data from multiple sources, listed how much less women make than men in diiferent specialties.

Women orthopedic surgeons earned 20 percent less compared to men in the field, according to the report. 

Other specialities with high gender wage gaps include:

Otolaryngology: 22 percent

Geriatrics: 21.4 percent

OB/GYN: 19.6 percent
