Surgeries and appointments at SSM Health were canceled weeks before 11 orthopedic surgeons resigned, the Chippewa Herald reported Nov. 26. The surgeon group asked for patient continuity agreements, but results of the request weren’t released.
SSM Health Dean Medical Group sued two orthopedic surgeons who resigned. The lawsuit, filed Nov. 30m, alleged Jason Sansone, MD, and Brian Keyes, DO, violated their employee agreement by planning their own practice during work and “induced and encouraged” other surgeons to breach their contracts. SSM Health is seeking damages and the return of malpractice insurance.
