The seat became available after family medicine physician Ted Epperly, MD, was let go after more than a decade on the board. The board’s commissioner said Dr. Epperly’s decisions during the pandemic were a “suspension of individual liberties,” according to the report.

Dr. Moss is a Meridian, Idaho-based surgeon specializing in total joint replacement of the hip and knee, as well as arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. He is competing with dermatopathologist Ryan Cole, MD, and epidemiologist Sky Blue, MD, for the seat.

Interviews will be held Aug. 9, with a decision expected to be made two days later.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
