With expertise in hand and wrist surgery, Dr. O’Connell serves as Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center’s director of hand and wrist surgery as well as chairman of orthopedic surgery.
Dr. O’Connell has special interests in arthroscopic rotator cuff and shoulder stabilization surgery. He also specializes in fractures and soft tissue reconstruction of the hand and wrist.
A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. O’Connell is also a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Medical Association, California Medical Association and Indiana Hand Society.
After earning his medical degree from and completing his residency at Baltimore-based University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. O’Connell underwent fellowship training at Indiana Center for Surgery and Rehabilitation of the Hand and Upper Extremity in Indianapolis.
