Dr. Brockmeier joined UVA Health’s orthopedic surgery department in 2010, specializing in sports medicine and shoulder surgery with a focus on sports injuries. He serves as a team physician for the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
Before joining UVA, Dr. Brockmeier practiced in Charlotte, N.C., for three years. There, he served as a team physician for the Charlotte Bobcats basketball team and an orthopedic consultant for several high schools and youth baseball organizations.
Dr. Brockmeier completed medical school and residency training at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He later completed a fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Currently, Dr. Brockmeier is engaged in clinical trials evaluating scaffold augmentation of rotator cuff repair and stemless total shoulder arthroplasty.
