Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Ryan Plank of Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute

Ryan J. Plank, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon, who has been with Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute in Crown Point, Ind., since 2011. Dr. Plank specializes on sports medicine, general orthopedics, upper extremity injuries and knee injuries.

In addition to being a team physician for a local high school, Dr. Plank is affiliated with Pinnacle Hospital, Minster Community Hospital and Franciscan St. Anthony Health, along with three surgery centers.

 

Dr. Plank received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, completed his categorical orthopedic surgery internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, as well as his orthopedic surgery residency there as well.

 

Dr. Plank was also a major, United States Army as a staff orthopedic surgeon based at Fort Stewart, Ga.
