Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Richard J. Hawkins of Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas

Richard J. Hawkins, MD, specializes in shoulder, elbow and knee reconstructive surgery and sports medicine and is a founding member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society. Dr. Hawkins is also a team physician for the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies in addition to being a published author of textbooks on shoulder surgery.

Dr. Hawkins is program director for the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas Fellowship Program and Chairman of the Orthopaedic Research Foundation of the Carolinas. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Orthopaedics and completed fellowship training in knee, shoulder and spine.
