Dr. Cui specializes in adult reconstruction and serves as vice chair for research in UVA’s orthopedic surgery department.
The author of more than 70 papers and book chapters on orthopedic surgery, Dr. Cui focuses on research topics including stem cell therapy for osteonecrosis, osteolysis in joint replacement and non-union fractures.
He has received numerous academic and professional accolades, including the Hip Society Otto Aufranc Award in 1997 and inclusion on the Best Doctors in America list.
Dr. Cui graduated from Henan Medical University in China, completed residency and fellowship training at UVA and completed a second fellowship at University of Bern in Switzerland.
