Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Michael Eilerman of University Orthopaedic Surgeons

Michael Eilerman, MD, has been practicing with University Orthopaedic Surgeons since 1993, providing care at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. He is one of the few surgeons in the Knoxville area who performs the anterior approach to the hip replacement. He has performed anterior hip replacements for the last four years, and to date, he has performed over 1,000 such procedures.

Dr. Eilerman clinical interests center on joint replacements as well as fracture care and reconstruction. He also serves as an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

 

Dr. Eilerman earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, after which he completed an orthopedic traumatology fellowship at Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital, where he received the distinction “fellow of the Year.”
