Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Michael Chmell of OrthoIllinois

Michael Chmell, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon subspecializing in hip and knee surgery at OrthoIllinois in Rockford.

Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Chmell is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford.

 

Dr. Chmell underwent fellowship training in primary and revision joint replacement surgery at the Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

 

After earning his medical degree from the University of Chicago Medical School, Dr. Chmell completed his residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
