Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Michael B. Banffy of Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic

Michael B. Banffy, MD, specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, joint preservation and reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, knee, hip and knee. Dr. Banffy has been with Southern California-based Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic since November 2013.

Dr. Banffy has served as an assistant team physician for a number of professional athletics, including the Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Sparks and the Los Angeles D-Fenders, as well as served as the lead event physician for the X Games Los Angeles in 2013.

 

After receiving his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y., Dr. Banffy completed a general surgery internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital’s Department of Surgery in Boston. He then went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Program. Dr. Banffy also trained as a Kerlan-Jobe Sports Medicine Fellow.
