Dr. Gersten joined Saddleback in 1988. He practices general orthopedics, specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopy, arthritis and joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Gersten is an American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons fellow. He serves as Santa Margarita (Calif.) High School’s team physician.
After Dr. Gersten earned his medical degree from Philadelphia-based Jefferson Medical College, he interned at Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Hospital. He completed a residency at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center. He underwent fellowship training at Joint Implant Surgeons and Ohio State University, both in Columbus, Ohio.
