Dr. Barad is co-founder and CEO of Osso VR, a virtual reality surgical training platform. The mission behind the technology is to improve patient safety and democratize access to modern surgical techniques.
In 2010, Dr. Barad won UC Los Angeles’ Stafford L. Warren Medal, which is awarded to the senior graduating first in medical school class. He has served as an editor and contributor to the medical technology news site medGadget since 2006.
Dr. Barad has spoken at various conferences, including TEDMED, the CES Digital Health Summit, Exponential Medicine and Health 2.0.
After earning a bioengineering degree from UC Berkeley, Dr. Barad attended medical school and completed a residency at UC Los Angeles. He underwent fellowship training in Boston at Harvard and Boston Children’s Hospital.
