In addition, Dr. Hannafin serves as director of the women’s sports medicine center at the Hospital for Special Surgery and a professor of orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. She is board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Dr. Hannafin was the first female president of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, serving from 2013 to 2014, and is the past president of the Herodicus Society. She is currently the head team physician for the New York Liberty WNBA team and for Rowing Team.
After earning her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y., Dr. Hannafin completed her residency at the Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y. Dr. Hannafin is also fellowship trained from the Hospital for Special Surgery.
