Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Duretti Fufa of Hospital for Special Surgery

Duretti Fufa, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery who is also trained in plastic surgery.

Dr. Fufa specializes in hand surgery and performs reconstruction and microsurgery. Her interests include fractures, common hand and wrist problems, complex wound coverage, limb salvage and post-trauma functional enhancement. She is an assistant attending orthopedic surgeon at HSS and assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at New York City-based Weill Cornell Medical College.

 

Dr. Fufa is affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery and AO North America.

 

Dr. Fufa earned her medical degree from Boston-based Harvard University and went on to complete her orthopedic surgery residency at HSS. She then completed her fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.
