A professor in the department of orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School in Houston, Dr. Harner was recognized as a master instructor by the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Dr. Harner served as president of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine from 2012 to 2013. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and sits on editorial review boards for
publications including The American Journal of Knee Surgery and Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Harner earned his medical degree from the Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan Medical School, where he also completed an internship. He completed a residency at the University of Pittsburgh and underwent
fellowship training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
