Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Andrew John Cosgarea of Johns Hopkins Medicine

Andrew John Cosgarea, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore.

Dr. Cosgarea is chief of the division of sports medicine at the John Hopkins School of Medicine and the head team physician for the Johns Hopkins University athletics department. He also serves as a professor of

orthopedic surgery.

 

Before becoming board certified in orthopedic sports medicine and orthopedic surgery, Dr. Cosgarea received his medical degree from Philadelphia-based Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and

completed his residency at the University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center. Dr. Cosgarea underwent fellowship training in sports medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
