In 2021 and 2022, the average starting salary for orthopedic surgeons was $565,000. In 2022 and 2023, that number grew to $633,000.
Orthopedic surgeons saw the fourth highest starting salary increase of all physician specialties, following psychiatrists, dermatologists and anesthesiologists.
