Dr. Olszewski is a sports medicine surgeon and has spent six years serving in the Montana State Legislature, according to a Jan. 27 news release emailed to Becker’s. He sponsored bills to improve medical liability reform, increase reimbursement for Medicaid services, prevent unexpected out-of-network medical bills for patients and reform loan forgiveness programs for physicians serving rural communities.

Dr. Olszewski also helped pass legislation related to healthcare billing processes and received awards for his bipartisan work from the Montana Medical Society and the Montana Coalition to Prevent Suicide.

“I am proud to support a fellow orthopaedic surgeon running for federal office,” AAOS President Daniel Guy, MD, said in the news release. “The ongoing healthcare crisis shows that we need more physicians in elected office to advocate for our patients, practices, and profession.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
