Dr. Sethi, a pediatrician, came to him for shoulder pain. She was also Dr. Mehta’s pediatrician, according to a March 14 feature from Hackensack University Meridian Health.
“I’d seen her name in the chart and thought it could be her,” Dr. Mehta said in the feature. “I introduced myself, like I do to all my patients, then I said, ‘You probably don’t remember me, but I remember you. You were my pediatrician when I was growing up.'”
Dr. Mehta diagnosed Dr. Sethi with a rotator cuff tear and opted for a reverse shoulder replacement to treat her. Previous steroid injections povided temporary relief. After physical therapy, Dr. Sethi is recovering well.
“There was a time that he looked up to me, and now I look up to him,” she said in the feature. “He did an excellent job on my shoulder; God bless him with success.”
