Orthopedic surgeon missing in Florida condo collapse confirmed dead

Brad Cohen, MD, an orthopedic surgeon reported missing after a condominium in Surfside, Fla., collapsed on June 24 was confirmed dead July 16.

Dr. Cohen was a sports medicine specialist with Aventura (Fla.) Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. HIs body was recovered July7, according to Miami-Dade police.

His brother, Gary Cohen, MD, also died in the collapse. His body was recovered July 7, and Miami-Dade police confirmed his identity the next day.

Ninety-five victims were identified by authorities, as of July 18, according to Miami-Dade police.
