Orthopedic surgeon leader to know: Dr. Milton L. Routt of University of Texas Medical School

Milton “Chip” L. Routt, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. His clinical interests include orthopedic trauma and fracture care.

He is a professor in the orthopedic surgery department at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. His research, which has been published in journals like Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and Journal of Trauma, investigates conditions like pelvic ring fractures and acetabular fractures. He holds memberships with the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Orthopaedic Trauma Association, among other professional societies.

 

Dr. Routt earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He went on to complete residency training at Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center and an orthopedic traumatology fellowship at Seattle-based University of Washington Harborview Medical Center.
