Orthopedic surgeon leader to know: Dr. Elisa J. Knutsen of OrthoMaryland

Elisa J. Knutsen, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoMaryland, a practice with offices in Baltimore, Lutherville, Md., and Owings Mills, Md. She specializes in hand injuries, with an interest in arthritis, nerve compression syndromes and sports injuries of the hand, elbow and wrist.

She has been published in multiple journals, including the Journal of Hand Surgery and the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma. Before she joined OrthoMaryland in 2015, Dr. Knutsen served as an orthopedic surgeon and assistant professor at George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Washington, D.C.

 

Dr. Knutsen earned her medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She went on to complete her residency in orthopedic surgery at University of Maryland, Baltimore and her fellowship in hand surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.
