Dr. Hopkins focuses on orthopedic sports medicine as well as osteoarthritis of the hand, wrist and hip and total joint replacements. He previously served as a flight surgeon and an orthopedic surgeon with the U.S. Air Force. He currently serves as vice-chair of the University System of Georgia Board of Regents. He is also a board member of the MAG Mutual Insurance Company and United Bank Corporation.
After receiving his medical degree and completing his orthopedic surgery residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Dr. Hopkins completed a fellowship in sports medicine in Atlanta under the direction of John Garrett, MD. He also completed an AO fellowship in orthopedic trauma in Canada.
