Dr. Romero has a professional interest in shoulder rotator cuff tears and instability, complex knee ligament and cartilage tears as well as a wide variety of ankle injuries. Additionally, he performs joint preserving arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement surgery, and he is one of the few U.S. orthopedic surgeons qualified to treat hip femoro-acetabular impingement and labral tears using minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques.
Dr. Romero has provided care for numerous athletes and sports teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, New York Mets and Brooklyn Cyclones. He has also offered orthopedic services to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and San Jose Cleveland Ballet.
Dr. Romero earned his medical degree at University of California, San Francisco. He completed his orthopedic residency at Stanford (Calif.) University and an advanced fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at New York University’s Hospital for Joint Diseases.
