Orthopedic surgeon joins Marshall Health: 3 details

Thomas Emmer, MD, joined Huntington, W.Va.-based Marshall Health.

Here are three things to know:

1. Dr. Emmer specializes in orthopedic trauma and the treatment of soft tissue injuries and fractures.

2. He will serve as an assistant professor in the department of orthopedic surgery at Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. Dr. Emmer is also affiliated with Marshall Health’s Cabell Huntington (W.Va.) Hospital.

3. After earning his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Dr. Emmer completed a residency at Marshall University and an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Columbus, Ohio-based Grant Medical Center.
