Dr. Mathis has worked as chief medical officer of Vola for the past several months and will manage the company’s direction and strategy in his new role, according to an Oct. 18 news release.
He owns his own healthcare practice and has served as senior adviser in the immediate office of the secretary at U.S. Health and Human Services. At HHS, Dr. Mathis developed protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in nursing homes. He also held positions at Allscripts and Smith+Nephew, according to his LinkedIn profile.
