Theresa Lynn Colosi, MD, in custody without bail in Santa Barbara County Jail, is accused of attacking Cindy Hann, the court-appointed supervisor of Dr. Colosi’s 12-year-old son, in an attempt to kidnap her son after a Dec. 8 outing with Ms. Hann and the boy.
In the lawsuit, filed June 5, Ms. Hann claims Dr. Colosi battered her with a metal canister in the kidnap attempt before fleeing. Dr. Colosi was arrested by police in Whitefish, Mont., three days after the alleged attack and extradited to Santa Barbara.
Ms. Hann is suing for an unspecified amount of money for physical and emotional damages and lost earnings. She seeks a jury trial and has asked the court to prevent Dr. Colosi from hiding, transferring or disposing of any of her assets.
