Orthopedic leader speaker spotlight: Dr. Steve Holtzclaw

Steve Holtzclaw, MD, serves as CEO of U.S. Orthopaedic Partners, an orthopedic services management organization. 

Dr. Holtzclaw stepped into the role in January 2024. USOP, which was first established at the end of 2020, operates 11 affiliate practices in three states. 

Before joining USOP, Dr. Holtzclaw served as CEO at Alteon Health in Germantown, Md., one of the country’s largest physician-led acute care medical groups. He was also president of hospital-based services for TeamHealth.

Dr. Holtzclaw began his career as an EMT/paramedic before going on to earn undergraduate degrees in business administration and biology. His medical degree is from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and he completed an emergency medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. 

He also served as an instructor at Johns Hopkins training future physicians. 

Dr. Holtzclaw is speaking at Becker’s 22nd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, set for June 19-21 at the Swissotel Chicago.
