Orthopedic devicemaker adds former Zimmer Biomet leader

Bret Schwartzhoff was named senior vice president of sales and marketing at Maruho Medical.

Mr. Schwartzhoff has 25 years of experience in medical device leadership with a focus on spine, sports medicine, gastroenterology and general surgery, according to a July 28 news release. He previously held leadership positions at Zimmer Biomet, Boston Scientific, Johnson & Johnson and Arthrocare.

“We are excited to have someone with Bret’s significant commercial leadership background across a wide range of medical device sales and marketing roles join Maruho Medical,” Chris Runnells, president of Maruho Medical, said in the release. “We have a unique opportunity to innovate and launch products with the support of our parent company … and we will leverage our privately-funded positioning to grow through organic development and acquisition, demonstrating a consistent commitment to expanding our product portfolio.”
