Orthopedic clinic slated to close now under new ownership

Williamston, N.C.-based Roanoke Orthopedics was scheduled to close down following the Aug. 3 shutdown of its affiliate, Williamston-based Martin General Hospital, according to an Oct. 5 report from local NBC affiliate WITN.

Now, the orthopedic practice is being given a second chance following an acquisition by Washington, N.C.-based Agape Health Services

The orthopedic clinic will remain closed until November but will begin taking phone calls on Oct. 9 in anticipation of the reopening. 

Martin General was forced to close six clinics after filing for bankruptcy in August and failing to find buyers for the clinics. A provider with another one of the clinics told the news outlet there are plans to open a new practice inside of a Plymouth, N.C., drug store.
