The sensor system is the first sensor in OrthoPediatrics’ portfolio and will allow for brace monitoring, according to a Dec. 5 news release. The Bluetooth-connected sensor will upload data to an app, where movement and brace-wearing data is stored in a password-protected cloud-based platform, allowing for remote monitoring by healthcare providers with downloadable reports.
The company has also entered into license and supply and distribution agreements with Innovation Lab to bring the MOVE-D brace to market.
MOVE-D is an elbow brace that stabilizes tremors in the dominant upper extremity for pediatric patients with movement disorders.
