Orthofix reports $187M in Q2 net sales: 7 notes

Medical device company Orthofix earned $187 million in net sales during the second quarter, according to its financial results released Aug. 8.

Here are six additional notes on the report:

1. The $187 million in net sales was made up of $158 million in global spine sales and $29 million in global orthopedic sales. 

2. Net sales increased 58.4 percent over the second quarter of 2022. 

3. The company’s gross profit increased $33.1 million to reach $119.6 million.

4. Orthofix is predicting 2023 full-year net sales to be between $752 million and $758 million. 

5. Net income for the quarter was a loss of $39.4 million compared to a positive net income of $2.5 million in the second quarter of 2022. 

6. The company reported a net income of negative $100.4 million through the first two quarters of 2023.
