Orthofix deploys 5,000+ limb lengthening devices over 20 years

Orthofix’s Fitbone intramedullary limb lengthening devices have been used in more than 5,000 cases globally, the devicemaker said March 7.

The device is a fully implantable system for correcting leg length and deformity, according to a news release. It has been used for more than 20 years clinically.

Fitbone is the only lengthening nail with a pediatric indication. It has approval in the U.S. and abroad with FDA clearances and CE mark approval.
