Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina is planning two new ASC projects to increase its operating room footprint by more than 100%.
The organization is building a new center in Steele Creek, N.C., alongside an expansion to an existing facility in Matthews, N.C. With the expansions, OrthoCarolina will grow its capacity from four operating rooms to 10 rooms, according to a May 12 news release from OrthoCarolina.
The wholly owned single-specialty orthopedic outpatient surgery center in Steele Creek will have four operating rooms and open by the end of 2027.
Construction to expand the Matthews ASC from two rooms to four rooms is already underway, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
