Orlando Health orthopedic surgeon named CMO for 2022 Special Olympics

Michael Jablonski, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Orlando (Fla.) Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, has been named CMO for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games.

Dr.  Jablonski will provide medical oversight and direction to the 2022 USA Games health and medical leadership team.

He will guide the team of providers, which will include Orlando Health physicians, physical therapists, nurses and athletic trainers.

Dr. Jablonski is medical director for the University of Central Florida Athletics in Orlando and provides sports medicine care to athletes throughout the region. He specializes in knee and shoulder care, joint replacement and Mako robotic arm-assisted surgery.

“As the official medical team for the 2022 USA Games, we look forward to partnering with Special Olympics over the next year and beyond to build a support structure that will help the athletes compete and excel,” Dr. Jablonski said in a June 7 news release.

The event will take place June 5-11, 2022, in Orlando.
