Bruce Levy, MD, brought the STaR trial, the Stability 2 and the Anchor trial to Orlando Health when he joined in 2023, according to a March 5 news release shared with Becker’s.
The STaR trial is funded by the Department of Defense and will study multiple ligament knee injuries, including knee dislocations, in members of the military and the general population. Researchers are looking at the timing of surgery and rehabilitation related to patient outcomes.
The Stability 2 trial is backed by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) and Canadian Institutes of Health Research and will study anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in young patients.
Orlando Health is also part of the Academic Network of Conservational Hip Outcomes Research, which allows select surgeons to contribute data on hip preservation surgery in young adults. The initiative aims to advance care for hip dysplasia and other hip conditions.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
