Hillcrest Hospital South is the first hospital in the state to earn the nod, according to a Feb. 14 news release. The designation requires advanced certification in the hip and knee replacement, spine and shoulder surgery programs.

“Over the past five years, Orthopedic surgery has been one of the highest growth service lines at Hillcrest South,” the hospital’s CEO, Bennett Geister, said in the release. “Our team came together to implement and adopt best practices so that the patient’s experience is top of class when they trust their care to Hillcrest Hospital South. This is a great achievement driven by our staff doing the work, and I’m excited to showcase our program to the communities we serve.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
