Athens-based OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital has begun offering robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery, expanding access to advanced orthopedic procedures in southeast Ohio.

The hospital recently completed its first cases using the technology and now offers robotic-assisted total knee replacement, partial knee replacement and total hip replacement, according to a Feb. 18 news release.

O’Bleness uses the Rosa system, which supports surgeons with real-time guidance and advanced planning to tailor procedures based on each patient’s anatomy. The technology allows surgeons to individually tailor procedures while maintaining complete control throughout the procedure.

The addition builds on other investments in surgical services at the hospital, including new operating rooms, which opened in 2025.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
