Dr. Forbes, a neurosurgeon at Cincinnati-based UC Health, is part of The Co-Pilot Project, an initiative by nonprofit Razom for American neurosurgeons to mentor young Ukrainian surgeons to increase the quality of care.

Alongside training and mentorship, the project also provides supplies and resources for Ukrainian surgeons.

There have been six Ukrainian fellowships in Cincinnati in just a few years since the initiative was launched.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
