Nova Southeastern University appoints Dr. H. Thomas Temple SVP of translational research and economic development

H. Thomas Temple, MD, was appointed senior vice president of translational research and economic development for Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Temple spent nearly three decades practicing medicine, joining NSU from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where he was chief of the orthopedic oncology division and vice chairman of the department of orthopedics.

 

He has a clinical interest in benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors, tissue transplantation and complex limb reconstruction. His research interests include stem cell applications in bone and cartilage restoration, tissue banking and developing targeted therapies for sarcoma.

 

In his new position, Dr. Temple will support NSU’s faculty within the colleges, centers and institutions to develop their ideas and technologies. He is responsible for building connections, resources and entrepreneurial energy to commercialize NSU’s research activities.

 

Dr. Temple will create partnerships with companies, investors and entrepreneurs using the University’s wet and dry lab space and Center for Collaborative Research, which will open next year. The position is a partnership between HCA East Florida hospitals, where he will have privileges and maintain his surgical practice.
