Newark-Wayne Community Hospital earns ‘Gold Seal’ for orthopedic knee and hip replacement program: 3 notes

The Joint Commission awarded its Gold Seal of Approval for orthopedic knee and hip replacement to Newark-Wayne (N.Y.) Community Hospital, the Wayne Post reports.

Here’s what you need to know.

 

1. Newark-Wayne will be the fourth accredited orthopedic joint center.

 

2. The hospital underwent an on-site review in August. Surveyors analyzed several metrics including environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.

 

3. President of the Eastern Region for Rochester Regional Health Dustin Riccio lauded the accomplishment by saying “This accreditation provides us the framework to take us to the next level and reinforces the fact that we provide the quality services patients need close to home.”
