Rochester (N.Y.) Regional Health has begun construction on a $17.5 million orthopedic and neurosciences center in Canandaigua, N.Y.

The center will occupy an existing 39,000-square-foot facility and consolidate several specialty practices currently operating at separate locations in the city, including Canandaigua Orthopedic Associates, Finger Lakes Bone and Joint and the Spine and Pain Center, all based in Canandaigua, according to a June 16 news release.

The facility will offer orthopedic, spine, pain management, imaging and outpatient surgical services. Plans include four operating rooms and 16 pre- and post-procedure bays that will operate as an ASC and hospital outpatient department.

The center also will feature 32 clinical exam rooms and onsite imaging services, including MRI, X-ray and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry technology.

The project is expected to be completed in spring 2027, according to the release.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
