Auburn (N.Y.) Community Hospital has added orthopedic oncologist Emily Carmody, MD, according to an April 24 report from FingerLakes.com.

Dr. Carmody specializes in the removal of tumors from bones and soft tissues, prioritizing limb preservation. She is one of only 150 orthopedic oncologists in the nation, according to the report.

She also performs total joint revisions for patients in addition to oncological surgeries. She will see patients at the Upstate Cancer Center in Auburn.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
