New Orleans Saints center to undergo surgery at Andrews Sports Medicine Institute

Erik McCoy, center for the New Orleans Saints, is scheduled to undergo surgery at Andrews Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala., according to a Sept. 25 report from USA Today.

The procedure is expected to be performed by Benton Emblom, MD, and his team, who specialize in sports hernia surgery. 

Mr. McCoy will likely need six to eight weeks to recover from the hernia procedure, according to the report. He was injured during the first quarter of a Sept. 22 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
