New Jersey hospital earns 1st Joint Commission certification for hip fracture care

New Brunswick, N.J.-based Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Disease-Specific Care Certification in hip fracture treatment, according to a July 24 news release from West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health.

The hospital recently underwent a rigorous onsite review and demonstrated compliance with standards related to clinical outcomes, patient education, program management and performance measurement. It is the first RWJBarnabas Health facility to receive this certification.

To qualify, hospitals must follow strict care protocols, adhere to clinical guidelines and meet performance metrics set by The Joint Commission.
